Out and about in Shropshire....

Should you decide to venture out and about there is lots to see.  Information Leaflets are available for you to browse through.

Directly opposite there is Whittington Castle, built in 1221 AD by the English to keep the marauding Welsh out!!

The medival town of Shrewsbury steeped in history has hundreds of listed buildings.

The famous Shrewsbury Flower Show takes place every August.  Shrewsbury is also the birth place of Charles Darwin.

Major attractions within reach of Whittington are, Ironbridge Gorge, RAF Cosford Museum, Hawkstone Park, Secret Hill and Powis Castle and Gardens, Chirk Castle and Erddig House

More unusual attractions include the: Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker, The Judge's Lodging, Wroxeter Roman Vineyard selling delicious local wines.

I can recommend The White Lion, Ye Olde Boot Inn and The Jack Mytton for dining and refreshments. Two in the village itself and the third a 5 minute drive away.
